39 hrs / week, 6am – 4:15pm (Mon-Thurs)
As an apprentice within the business, you will be expected to develop your knowledge and skills within the Inspection Department. You will be required to support the measurement of in production components as well as final production inspection, ensuring only the highest level of quality components are only release for delivery.
You will learn the foundations of manual measurement techniques and the equipment used.
You will develop knowledge of visual quality acceptance criteria for a variety of market sectors, including Aerospace.
You will learn how to program inspection equipment including the CMM and Optical Measurement systems.
You will develop an understanding of the function of the Quality Management System within a manufacturing business and the continued development and implementation of this system.
You will gain knowledge of Accreditations and Standards, including the process of auditing.
This apprenticeship is aimed with progression to Quality Manager / Senior Inspection role.
To work within the inspection department at Rugby, Technoset Ltd, performing general inspection tasks.
Visual inspection and first principles dimensional measurement of production.
Operate and program inspection equipment to support in production measurement and final inspection requirements,
Issue gauging and measurement equipment for production pre-kitting as per the process information.
Support the control of gauging returned from production, ensuring the quality of equipment returned is maintained.
Arranging external calibration and performing internal calibration tasks.
Attending of production kick off meetings to understand the quality requirements of components about to begin production.
Working alongside machine setters and operators to overcome quality related issues.
Produce inspection reports where necessary in line with internal and external requirements.
Maintain the inspection area and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness and organisation, inline with the companies 5S processes.
To engage with the positive H&S culture within Technoset and support the continued promotion of a safe working environment.
To provide support to the other production areas as and when required.
To attend NPI meetings, team meetings and RCA meetings.
To ensure all relevant information for personal tasks is kept updated.
Promote and demonstrate best practice in all aspects of the role.
Continue to develop skills and technical knowledge of production processes.
To support the forward thinking and continuous improvement culture throughout the business.
To attend apprentice training requirements set out in your apprentice plan.
To present your apprenticeship progress to the management team every 3 months, to demonstrate your development and progress.
