The role of Quality Engineer plays a vital part in everyday activities at Technoset. Supporting the production teams to ensure components achieve the requirements for the customer is paramount. Processing components through ‘First Off’ inspection in a timely manner and providing feedback for improvement to the setting teams is crucial to ensuring the production stays on schedule. Alongside these responsibilities, you will be tasked with the day-to-day operations of the Quality Lab, supported by the Quality Manager and Production Manager.
Responsible for the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the Quality Department including:
Batch inspection of production, including visual acceptance to the highest standards.
Full 1st off Inspections of components as required throughout the day.
Programming and operating the CMM (Aberlink) for new and existing components.
Programming and operating the Vici M1 Turned Parts optical scanning machine.
Monitoring of Quality based KPIs and reporting to the Quality Manager on current performance.
To work closely with the production teams to resolve issues as speedily as possible.
Raising internal awareness of any non-conformances and escalating to the senior management where required.
Control and issue of gauging through the MRP system. Supporting the pre and post kitting activities to reduce downtime.
Responsible for the daily housekeeping within the Quality Lab work area and ensuring equipment is clean, tidy and well organised.
Adherence to Technoset Health & Safety policy and processes.
Embrace best practice in all areas, including Quality, H&S, 5S and maintenance
To engage with the positive H&S culture within Technoset and support the continued promotion of a safe working environment.
To attend NPI meetings, team meetings and RCA meetings.
To ensure all relevant information for personal tasks is kept updated.
Promote and demonstrate best practice in all aspects of the role.
Continue to develop skills and technical knowledge of production processes.
To support the forward thinking and continuous improvement culture throughout the business.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Personal Attributes
Competent at reading and understanding drawings including geometric tolerances.
Strong background in Inspection and metrology.
High attention to detail in all aspects of work including record keeping.
A passion for engineering and manufacturing.
Good IT Skills, use of MS Office in particular Excel.
Good personal organisation, ability to prioritise, multi-task and self-manage.
Good communication skills and a team player.
Good workspace organisation and tidiness.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate to find solutions.
A proactive can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
Good knowledge of the quality requirements of Aerospace Subcontract Sector.
Full understanding of the requirements of Quality Management Systems; specifically, AS9100 2016 Rev; D.
Experienced in running a Quality Control Department.
Good track record in understanding customer requirements and specifications.
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
